For over 45 years, Protoblast has refined our technology to become Australia’s leading manufacturer of abrasive blasting plant and equipment.

Offering clients the opportunity to reduce their blasting costs, improve operational efficiency and have a custom-built solution that meets their business needs. Here are four ways Protoblast outperforms and outlasts the competition.

1. Unrivalled durability

Understanding that abrasive blasting plant and equipment are long-term assets for our clients and that the success of these assets will also be measured in ongoing costs and maintenance, we ensure our abrasive blasting plant and equipment are engineered to last.

The build quality provided by our in-house engineers stands up to the demands of the industrial environment and delivers extended operational life. Some of the original machines we built (now over 30 years old) are still in service.

2. Superior reliability

Our superior Abrasive Recycling Technology significantly reduces abrasive blasting plant operating costs and improves reliability.

Our unique Airstream Abrasive Classifier effectively doubles the usable life of commonly used abrasives to deliver massive savings on blasting consumables. Our Abrasive Recovery Systems collects far more abrasive from the chamber using far less energy than conventional pneumatic recovery systems.

3. Lower operating costs

We ensure that our machinery is designed and built to provide low-cost operation for over 20 years. As a result of this commitment, many Protoblast clients have achieved savings of up to 75% on energy costs, 60% on downtime costs and 60% on maintenance costs compared to the running costs of a Pneumatic Abrasive Recovery System.

Recently, we worked with a client in central NSW who wanted to run more efficiently and save on consumption and labour. Since upgrading his abrasive blasting facility, the client has saved 7.5hrs per week in labour and has reduced their abrasive consumption by almost 1,000kg/month (working on an average of 6hrs blasting per day). You can read the entire case study here.

4. Custom-built total blasting solutions

Having worked with leading Australian brands like the Australian Army, Navy and Air Force, BHP, Rheem, Solahart, Caterpillar and Komatsu, we have had the opportunity to work across a diverse range of industries and custom build machinery for multiple applications.

These applications include building screws, surfboards, railway lines, structural steel, large carbon anodes for aluminium smelters, truck bodies and large curved plates, to name a few. This has provided us with unique insights into the needs of specific industries and inspired several innovations through our commitment to continuous improvement.
