There are many ways for a company to demonstrate the quality and reliability of its work. Some companies showcase certifications, others rely on customer testimonials, and some provide tangible results through repeat business. For Protoblast, customer trust is the true testament to its excellence, as shown by Bradken—a major player in the mining industry—returning not once, but thrice for Protoblast’s equipment solutions.
About Bradken
Bradken is a renowned engineering company specializing in mining and resources. With decades of experience, they have honed their expertise to deliver high-performance equipment, including Ground Engaging Tools (GET), buckets, blades, and related products. Bradken’s products are designed to support the diverse and demanding conditions of the global mining sector, making equipment efficiency and reliability paramount.
The Partnership: A Testament to Reliability
Protoblast has equipped Bradken’s operations across three of their Australian branches, enhancing their productivity and operational control:
Mount Thorley Branch: Dust Collection System
Installed in late 2022, high-capacity 50,000 cfm dust collectors were engineered to meet Bradken’s rigorous air quality standards while ensuring minimal maintenance and extended operational uptime. The installation significantly reduced airborne particulate matter, creating a safer working environment for their employees and improving overall plant efficiency. One highlight of this project was helping Bradken strive to become carbon-neutral by 2030. Working with engineers on the fan design Protoblast reduced the power requirement from 90kW to 55kW per dust collector, a massive saving.
Perth Branch: Blast Chamber
The Perth facility already had a blast chamber build by Protoblast back in 1994 that needed an overhaul. The conveyor system was getting to the point where regular maintenance was becoming a major project. In 2023 Protoblast fabricated and installed new conveyor trays with new rubber mounts and torsion bars. This has significantly reduced the maintenance and increased productivity of the blast chamber and is set up for another 30 years of service.
Ipswich Branch: Second Dust Collector
Installed in mid-2024, 50,000 CFM dust collectors were configured to complement Bradken’s specific operational layout. The system included the installation of a large sliding door on the front of the dome shelter significantly improving air quality management, safety for others in the surrounding area, and increased overall productivity by maintaining a clean, controlled environment during production.
A Relationship Built on Trust
Over the last two years, Protoblast’s equipment has supported Bradken in meeting and exceeding its operational goals. Repeat orders from Bradken not only signify satisfaction but also demonstrate the trust and confidence they have in Protoblast’s reliability, quality, and commitment to long-term support.
For Protoblast, partnerships like this are more than just transactions—they are a testament to the durability and dependability of the equipment and the mutual success of both companies.
