Protoblast was started in 1975 by John Gillies. He bought the Blastmaster section with all the drawings and the spare parts and with PGH’s permission, he took over that section of the business and continued it under the Protoblast name, and there it continues to this day.
When John Gillis had formed his own company, Protoblast, they took on quite a large project, they designed an ingot blast machine for BHP, which at that time was the largest blast machine in Australia.
We built a blast machine in 1976 for Rheem up at Rydalmere. Then that machine was relocated to Moss Vale in 1989. That machine is still operating today.
We work with our customers to ensure that they achieve a custom solution that is affordable, reliable, and gives the best return on investment.
