We were approached by a large company who were looking at upgrading its blast chamber to ensure it complied with regulations. In this large shed, used for blasting mining machinery and attachments, four small fans with socks were used to provide the dust collection which was well and truly inadequate, and visibility for the operator was an issue. Protoblast was contacted to provide a solution, and as the customer had a target of being carbon neutral by 2030 efficiencies had to be considered. Protoblast supplied and installed two 50,000cfm dust collectors and these were plumbed into an existing plenum on the rear of the blast shed saving the customer money and preventing waste. Inlet plenums were positioned in the front doors and side walls to provide an even flow of air through the shed. Protoblast was contracted for the full turnkey project including the civil, electrical, and concrete.
